Modular Skills Provision 2020

DBS awarded a range of funded modules commencing December 2020.

Dublin Business School is delighted to announce that Government funding has been approved to support the provision of part-time modules at the College. DBS will be offering funded places across a broad range of existing validated part-time modules ranging from Digital Marketing Fundamentals or Social Care in Practice to IT Essentials.

On Tuesday 27 October, the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD announced over €30 million in free and subsidised higher education places under the July Stimulus Higher Education Initiative Jobs Stimulus package to help get people back to work, upskill workers and build economic confidence while continuing to manage the impact of COVID-19.

Modular courses are short and focused and will be offered in a flexible manner, allowing people to gain important skills without taking a considerable period away from the labour market. Each module will be stand-alone so that participants can gain skills and put them into practice immediately in the workplace, but modules are also accredited in such a way as to provide building blocks to a full qualification should the student so wish.

Commencing in January 2021 DBS will provide funded places on the following Modules.

  •  Accounting Information Systems

  •  IT Essentials

  •  Blockchain and e-Payments

  •  Marketing Essentials

Applications for the Modular Skills Provision funded programmes are currently being accepted. Modules are due to commence in January 2021 with registration in December 2020. Due to the limited number of places available, early application is recommended. All DBS modules are fully accredited by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and span Level 6, 7and 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), to suit applicants with a range of prior qualifications and experience. The majority of modules will each carry 10 credits. They will be delivered in a part-time mode in either blended or online format, and allow learners to progress onto a full qualification on the NFQ if they so wish.
