“I began my studies in the MSc in Information and Library Management in DBS in September 2016 and I will complete my degree in the Autumn of 2018. I chose a part-time degree with evening lectures as this allows me to continue to work as a Library Assistant and apply my learning from college at the same time. I am keen to contribute both to my team and to the wider legal information field and obtaining a library degree would allow me to do this in the most effective way.

The modules covered in this degree are practical and relevant to the ever-changing role of a librarian. From The Teaching Librarian to Information Technology to Records Management and Information Rights, this degree covers a wide spectrum of skills. These, in conjunction with a module dedicated to the soft skills of professional and personal development, deliver a holistic approach to information and library management with many of the learning outcomes immediately applicable to the workplace.

The well delivered and thought provoking modules paired with the support from lecturers, the DBS library team and fellow classmates has made this a thoroughly enjoyable degree so far and I look forward to continuing in my studies in the year ahead.”
