The School of Arts is home to programmes within the fields of Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Addiction Studies, Social Science, Media & Cultural Studies, Journalism, General Arts, Film Studies and Film, Literature and Drama. With almost twenty years history of delivery of these programmes students benefit from the commitment to their fields of highly educated, passionate teachers.

All programmes in the School of Arts are validated by the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). The BA in Psychology and the Higher Diploma in Psychology are recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). The BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy is recognised by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). The Masters in Psychotherapy combined with our Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy is recognised as a 4 year training by IAHIP (Irish Association for Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy). We are in discussion with other professional bodies where relevant to negotiate appropriate recognition for programmes. In addition our programmes in film studies have a collaborative arrangement with Film Base Ireland.
