Fearghus Mahon Places 1st in ACCA Exam

Fearghus Mahon, ACCA

Huge congratulations to our ACCA student Fearghus Mahon, who placed 1st in Ireland and 5th worldwide in Financial Management in the June 2019 examinations.

DBS has a longstanding reputation for excellence in ACCA exams with many top placed students in our alumni, nonetheless we share in the joy and success of each of our students who have applied themselves with diligence to reap the rewards that come with true dedication.

Fearghus is one such student taking first place in Ireland and fifth worldwide in Financial Management – an incredible feat!

We spoke with Fearghus about studying for ACCA at DBS, here’s what he had to say:

Why did you choose DBS for your ACCA tuition?
DBS came highly recommended to me by colleagues, my employer and friends who had attended the college for tuition previously. My decision was also influenced by the broad range of study options offered by DBS and the inclusion of resources such as the (question based revision) QBR day and mock exams.

Would you recommend DBS to other ACCA students?
I would highly recommend DBS to other students for the quality of lecturing provided and rapid response from both the college and/or lecturers to any queries.

What did you find most useful about your ACCA programme at DBS?
The ACCA programme at DBS is designed in a very useful manner. It both prepares students for the exam and ensures that the necessary underlying concepts and material is understood. It does this by mixing standard lectures with online resources, question based revision, assignments and mock exams with constructive feedback.

Would you recommend DBS to a friend?
I would recommend DBS to a friend. Whether they are looking to begin or progress on their ACCA journey, DBS offer a range of advice and tuition options, that can be tailored to the needs of the student, ranging from advice on how best to self-study modules to full-time tuition.

Where are you working at the moment?
At the time of the exam I was employed in IPSI, a part of the Irish Life Group. However, I am currently working for CITCO Fund Services in Cork.
