International Student Ambassadors Award Ceremony 2019

The International Student Ambassadors Award Ceremony took place recently in the Royal College of Physicians on Kildare Street, Dublin. This annual event recognises the incredible hard work and determination of the International Ambassadors from third level institutions across the country. 

The Student Ambassador Programme is an initiative from Education in Ireland, which aims to put Ireland on the map for overseas students who are looking to study abroad. The Student Ambassadors who are chosen for the prestigious government-recognised programme play a vital role in raising awareness of the quality of Irish education, and each year the students go above and beyond their duties to fulfill this mission. This year DBS had five students represented from India, Malaysia, Denmark, Mexico and Brazil. 

Representatives from the various Embassies were in attendance, as well as Minister of State for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh T.D., who presented the students with their completion certificates. Following on from the Minister’s talk and the awards ceremony, our Student Ambassadors had a chance to mingle with each other and enjoy lunch.

We would like to congratulate our International Student Ambassadors for all that they have achieved during this academic year, and thank them for their valued contribution in promoting Irish higher education.
