My name is Rohand Nair and I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am a marketing student at Dublin Business School. I had chosen to attend Dublin Business School for my undergraduate degree as I was seeking a change in my environment. I was constantly travelling and moving to different countries growing up as it was a requirement of my Dad’s work and I wanted to attend a college in a country that provided me with the flexibility and resources to learn about the field I am passionate about. I had read numerous blogs and forums online and found that the environment and lifestyle in Ireland suited me best.

I am happy with my choice in college as I am in an environment where learning is personal with numerous discussions prompted by my lecturers. Moreover, the classes are smaller, which allows you to get to know your peers who will be your confidants for the next few years. The location of the college is also ideal as it is in the heart of the city centre where there are numerous shops and restaurants to spend some time in before or in-between classes.

The transition from living at home to moving away to a new country can be intimidating but it does get better as you are surrounded by many friendly people. I always felt confident and comfortable when I had to get something done as I was aware that there were people around to provide me with the help and comfort I need.

My experience living in Dublin has been amazing so far from the people to the nightlife and the food. I am living in an environment I had dreamt of living in. The nights out with friends are always fun as you can spend time with friends and meet new people. Moreover, my experience in Dublin Business School has been equally amazing as I have great lecturers who are always interacting and communicating with their students who are from all over the world as Dublin Business School is a very diverse college. I am getting an education that will benefit my future. The social and education aspect of the college is ideal as there is a sense of community amongst the students. There are numerous events held by the college as it brings people from numerous courses together to have fun and get to know each other. There are also clubs and societies where you can enjoy doing what you love with people who share the same passion. DBS makes you feel like you have a second home, which is one of the best attributes of the college.

For anyone who is looking to move away from their native country and is interested in moving to Ireland, all I can say is do it! If you want to live in a country that is rich in culture, laid back and filled with friendly faces all around, Dublin, Ireland is the place for you. Come ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure that you will not forget. I would advise anyone who is interested in studying in Ireland to come with an open mind and make the best of your experience.

In summation, I am very happy with my decision to move to Ireland and to study in Dublin Business School and I encourage anyone who is seeking to do the same, to come here and enjoy yourself.
