Create/Curate 2017 recently took place at DBS, an entire week of events involving all thing digital media related..
Monday
The week kicked off with a film festival in Castle House where a series of short films and other content were shown. The event gave our talented digital media students a chance to showcase some of their incredible work, in which they utilize the latest technology in Virtual Reality, advanced editing and 3D animation.
Wednesday
Next up was a Photography Exhibition held in Filmbase in Temple Bar, an ideal setting for our students to showcase their work. The evening event saw a large number of people drop by to show their support and to see the work on display, which included a mixture of photography and photobooks that the students had been working on.
Thursday
Lastly, we had a full day dedicated to the final event of Create/Curate 2017 - SHOWREAL 17. This media event included a collaborative series of presentations, workshops and discussions around the topic of new digital demands in higher education. Highlights from the event included a live networking lunch, complete with interviews, podcasting and audience interaction, and a dynamic question and answer session with the crew of the IFTA-nominated postgraduate short film Lily.
