Spotlight on: Isabel Oliver, a BA in Film and Media student

Isabel Oliver is a recent graduate of the BA in Film and Media, a course she says “has an enormous amount to offer students,” and points out that  the variety throughout the programme was the best aspect of studying in DBS.

“The course was extremely rewarding, due to its challenging nature and helpful lecturers; and it was extremely comprehensive due to its practical assignments. For example, writing, editing and producing your own radio show, to composing an industry standard documentary proposal, while creating several short films along the way.  Weaved within this practical work included all the theory of the media business which created the perfect balance.”

Outside of the classroom, Isabel found the college to be “an extremely comfortable environment with a healthy balance between social activities and course work.”

The college is located right in the busy and energetic city centre allowing students to take part in the vibrant and exciting activities Dublin has to offer.

“DBS provided a number of opportunities to make new friends, through its dynamic social scene and plethora of social clubs and societies. I personally found my interest within DBS’ Radio Society.  I believe this degree has given me the skills not only to work in the film and media industry, but to progress in life and achieve my future goals.”
