Spotlight on: Miceal Sammon, a BA (Hons) Business student in DBS

Miceal Sammon is a BA (Hons) Business student at DBS, specialising in Management.

Miceal, who is now in his final year speaks very highly of his time spent at DBS.

“I have been studying at Dublin Business School for over a year. I find there is a great rapport between students and staff, who are always encouraging and supportive of new ideas and entrepreneurial endeavours” he says.

Miceal finds the atmosphere to succeed available in abundance within the college, which contributes nicely to his own hard work and commitment in studying for his degree.

Speaking about the classes Miceal says, “the interactive class structures enable students to learn from one another and to develop invaluable organizational, teamwork and leadership skills. Lecturers also introduce students to the business world outside the classroom, such as through external event participation opportunities.”

Through the business school, Miceal has had the opportunity to work in a leading local firm in his third year and attend global student business conferences.

We’re proud to have a big and buzzing international community in the college and it’s something Miceal likes too, citing interacting with students from prestigious universities worldwide who come to the college, as a bonus to studying here.

What’s the best thing about studying in DBS?

He says, “Honestly, I feel like I’m part of something every time I step into a class. It feels like being part of a bigger community, a powerful mix of diverse students and award-wining lecturers. You’re not just a number, you’re a valued participant in the long term goal... it’s what makes coming to college in DBS so worthwhile. Even though I haven’t even graduated, I’m going to continue to be involved as much as I can and enjoy the rest of my time in my course.”

He does have one issue though… “I think my biggest problem with college is that I’m graduating too soon!”
