DBS Student’s Watersports Trip

The DBS Student Services team took our hard working summer students on a watersports trip to SurfDock in Grand Canal Dock recently. The group had a well-earned break and took part in a variety of fun and really enjoyable activities including stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, pier diving and trying to stay afloat on a monster surfboard.

The afternoon was topped off with a visit to the nearby Basil Pizza, who gave the students a selection of freshly cooked pizza’s and even included the house special ‘The Nutella Pizza’ for dessert.

Adam Crowther, DBS Sports, Clubs and Societies Officer, said “at DBS we are committed to creating high quality and positive experiences for our student body to enjoy and develop themselves within. Working hard outside of the classroom can be just as important in completing your journey towards future employment… As well as making your career potential even brighter, by being involved in a club or society at DBS you get to have a lot of fun doing what you enjoy, make lots of new and interesting friends and most of all have long lasting memories of your life while at college.”

The recent SurfDock event was just a taster of what’s to come for the new term ahead. The Student Services Team are planning on raising the bar even further on the extracurricular strand of the DBS student experience.  Experiences outside the classroom really help to shape the community and spirit of the college; and offer the best opportunity for students to make friends and memories that will last beyond their days in DBS.
