The Diploma in Accounting and Business is awarded on the completion of the exams:

F1 Accountant in Business
F2 Management Accounting
F3 Financial Accounting

No previous academic or accountancy qualifications are required to study for this qualification and  is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in the following types of roles:

  • basic bookkeeping

  • trainee accountant in a commercial organisation or accounting practice

  • accounts clerk in public sector.

Progression onto the full ACCA Professional Qualification

Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business via the Foundation-level route can either: transfer to the ACCA Qualification and commence their studies at F4 onwards of the ACCA Qualification at DBS OR continue to study for the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification online with Kaplan Financial.

Computer Based Exams (CBE) at DBS

 * Pass Guarantee Terms and Conditions In order to avail of the Pass Guarantee offered on the ACCA Platinum programme, students must adhere to the following terms and conditions:

  • Attend 85% of scheduled classes

  • Submit all homework assignments

  • Attempt Mock exam

  • Attend the full Question Based Revision Day

Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they sign the attendance sheet circulated during class, mock exam and QBR. The Pass Guarantee is available on all papers except F6.

CBE

ACCA Computer Based Exams (CBE) at DBS

Computer Based Exams are available for papers F1, F2 and F3. This is a 2 hour examination completed on a computer at our ACCA approved Exam Centre in DBS. The questions are a mix of randomly selected questions, with multiple choice, multiple response, true /false or single number entry responses.

Benefits of taking a CBE:

  • Flexibility – you are not restricted to June and December paper based examination sessions as DBS offer an extensive calendar of CBE sessions throughout the year

  • Instant feedback – your result is displayed on the computer screen at the end of the examination

  • There is no restriction on the number of times you can re-sit the examinations by CBE.

Please note: ACCA tuition has been approved for tax relief (with the exception of F6).

Tax relief is granted to Irish taxpayers for part-time courses at the standard rate of income tax (20%) in respect of tuition fees paid in exceeding €1,000 and up to €5,000. For timetable information on the ACCA full-time courses please contact the Admissions Office.

*Discount Terms and Conditions

1. Course fees must be paid in full on enrolment on the first night of class. If full fees are not paid by this date all discounts will be forfeited and fees will revert to the standard list price.
2. Discounts for 2nd or 3rd courses applies on package of equal or lower value 
3. To avail of the 50% re-sit discount, re-sit students must submit their official ACCA transcript of results.
