Coronavirus Update

Dear Students,

You will be aware from media reports of the spread of the coronavirus, initially through China, then through other countries and most recently in Europe. This is of great concern internationally and is being monitored closely by local authorities.

As we are coming to the end of Reading Week we are conscious that some students may have travelled overseas during the break. If you have been to an affected location we need you to contact us when you get back. Please do so by emailing [email protected]. We will be following the advice of the HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) and request you do the same. If you have not been to any affected area, and you are not showing any symptoms, then you have nothing to worry about and you will be able to come back to college If you have been to an affected area or if you believe you may have symptoms, we will be telling you to contact your doctor for advice.

In order to minimise the spread of the coronavirus you should remember the importance of good personal hygiene. Remember to regularly wash your hands and, if you cough or sneeze, please use a tissue. Observing this advice about coughing and sneezing etiquette is particularly important in preventing the spread of any respiratory illness, even the common cold.

You are all welcome back to DBS after Reading Week. Hopefully everyone is coming back healthy and that we can avoid any problems with the coronavirus.
