DBS Annual Ball and Sports & Societies Awards

The DBS Student Services Department hosted the Annual Formal Ball in the Conrad Hotel, Dublin on Thursday 31st March where over 200 students and staff attended the biggest event of the academic calendar. Joining in the celebrations were special guests Peter Houillon, CEO Kaplan UK and Gerry Muldowney, CEO DBS.

In addition to great food and entertainment the highlight of the night was the presentation of the Sports and Societies Awards. These awards acknowledge the outstanding commitment and achievements of groups and individuals who have made their mark on college life at DBS throughout the year. Sports Team of the Year was presented by Gerry Muldowney to the Men’s Basketball Team who made history in 2011 by winning the division 2 league final and becoming the first team ever in Irish Colleges Basketball to be promoted from division 3 to division 1 in consecutive seasons.

Society of the Year went to Radio DBS and the Student Ambassador award was presented to Eoin Naughton by Peter Houillon. Eoin was the recipient of this award due to his extraordinary commitment to all aspects of college life and his continually exceptional academic standards.
A great night was had by all. The College wishes to congratulate all the nominated students and thank them for their participation in Sports and Societies in the College in 2010/2011.
