DBS Retail Symposium 2017 - Register Now

The 2017 DBS and LIDL Retail Symposium takes place in Aud1 on Friday February 17th and takes on the theme of “Economics of Customer Excellence.” The event is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students of the college as well as DBS faculty and staff members.

There are 150 tickets in total available and students can register on Eventbrite.

The day will begin at 9.00am and consist of a morning of talks from some big names in Irish business, including:

Laura Canavan: Learning and Development Project Manager, LIDL Ireland
Gillian Maxwell: Managing Director, Tiger Retail
Holly Nolan: HR Director, O'Brien's Wines
Andrea Horan: Managing Director, Tropical Popical
Gilliam Hamill: Editor, Shelf Life Magazine
Charlie Boyle: CEO & Managing Director, Customer Service Excellence Ireland
Noeleen Mc Donnell: Department Manager, Brown Thomas

The talks will be based on the the economics of customer excellence, both internally to employees and externally to customers, as well as that, how customer service impacts on an organisation.

The event is organised by DBS lecturer Siobhán Magner and her Bachelor of Business in Retail Management students who will be running operations on the day.

Customer service is a large part of the Retail Management degree, and the morning symposium will give students an understanding of the importance of customer service, no matter what industry they choose to work in.
Previous themes have included Entrepreneurship in Retail and Women in Retail. Previous speakers include Denis O’Brien and the UK Marketing Manager of Groupon.com.
