Karina Kralle studied for paper P6 Advanced Taxation with DBS, in the June 2016 examination sittings. In her exams she achieved 2nd place in Ireland and 14th in the world. Below is her review of DBS.
"I decided to take the course for Advanced Taxation in DBS after recommendations from a work colleague, who had achieved a prize winning place in Ireland and the world in the same exam last year having studied there.
The level of tuition was excellent and the lecturer was really knowledgeable and helpful. The facilities in DBS and the location is great as well.
As the tax exam is all about the rules, the most useful thing I found was the advice from the lecturer to use a notebook and write the rules down as we learned them. We were told to carry it at all times and flick through it whenever we had a free minute.
This also helped a lot in practising questions, as you had all of the rules written in one place. As well as that, we were given questions for home work in nearly every class which were corrected the next week. We had two mock exams and on one occasion, a practice question before the actual class started.
DBS went the extra mile for students to make sure everyone had a really good chance to pass. I very much enjoyed the course. The tax subject is hard as you need to memorise all the rules and know how to apply them, but I found it interesting and very practical. Therefore I would definitely recommend DBS to anyone who wants to study for ACCA exams."
