- Approved as an Accredited Institution of LJMU in 1995
- Recognised as an Associate College of Henley in 1996
- Courses approved for tax purposes by the Department of Education in 1997
- Approved for inclusion on the CAO listing in 1998
HETAC was established by the Government in June 2001, under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 1999. HETAC is the qualifications awarding body for third-level educational institutions outside the university sector. It is the legal successor to the National Council for Educational Awards. NCEA has played its part in Irish economic development and in shaping the educational future of third-level students for over a quarter of a century. During the time the demand for people with NCEA qualifications has grown dramatically. The status and value of these qualifications is assured and will continue to grow. HETAC will continue to take a modern, progressive approach to third-level education. While it will still undertake the validation of programmes, HETAC will take a more strategic view of Quality Assurance, setting and monitoring standards in higher education and training. www.hetac.ie In 1989 Dublin Business School formed a partnership with Liverpool Business School, part of Liverpool John Moores University.
