Background to the Institute of Financial Trading

The Irish Institute of Financial Training (IIFT) was founded in early 2010 by John Curran, Peter Brown and Tony Fitzpatrick. Coming from a strong financial background they recognised the surge in interest from the wider community to become involved in financial trading. The IIFT and its team of successful traders developed an educational programme based on ‘set-ups’ and ‘edges’ that have been tried and tested.  Peter Brown, former Chief Dealer and Head of the Treasury Team in Barclays Bank and Managing Director of the Irish Institute of Financial Trading delivers the programme. Peter gained his extensive trading knowledge working in Citi Bank, Banque National de Paris, Ulster Bank and ten years in Barclays. Peter’s daily interaction with students along with his continuous mentoring and supervision of trading is what distinguishes this course from the rest of the market. Peter is also a regular contributor to trading and bond market discussions on primetime current affairs television and radio programmes on RTE, TV3, and Newstalk.
