At DBS we are committed to providing career focused education with our roots firmly based in preparing students for the rigorous demands of professional accountancy examinations. The Accounting Technicians Ireland course accredited by Accounting Technicians in Ireland is a combination of study and practical experience, designed to build your knowledge in Accountancy, IT and Management. The course consists of two years of study. If you are entering Accounting Technicans Ireland Year 1 there is a newly structured syllabus in place, if you are entering Year 2 some syllabus changes have occurred. On completion of this qualification and two years documented work experience which can be completed prior during or after your studies (submitted through Accounting Technicians Ireland), students can use the designation Accounting Technicians Ireland after their name. The Accounting Technicians Ireland is tailored to provide you with the background knowledge and skills to qualify and work as an Accounting Technician. Graduates of this programme will have shown that they are able to offer competent accounting support to business managers in all aspects of the financial sector.

 

At DBS our committed team of experienced and highly qualified lecturers will prepare you to sit the Accounting Technicians Ireland examinations and provide you with a concise background of accountancy procedures such as, generating and analysing ledger balances, cash flow preparation, payroll, completing and submitting tax returns, assisting in drafting financial reports, assisting in the preparation and analysis of budgets, in addition to gaining a thorough understanding of the current accounting standards. Successful completion of the examinations provides you with a stepping stone to the next level of professional accountancy qualification.

Studying Accounting Technicians Ireland

 

Dublin Business School offers the course on a part time evening basis.

The course will run on Monday and Wednesday evenings 6.15-9.30pm.

 

 

Syllabus Structure

 

The syllabus structure comprises of two levels:

 

The first, Year 1 has four common papers as follows:

 

  • Financial Accounting 1
  • Taxation 1
  • Business Management
  • Law & Ethics
     

The second, Year 2 has four papers:

 

  • Accounts 2
  • Management Accounting  
  • Taxation 2
  • Integrated Accounting Systems

 

Integrated Accounting Systems
Integrated Accounting Systems will delivered at weekends after Christmas and assessment will take place in March.  TAS books and Sage will be incorporated in this new module

 

 

How do I register?

 

Dublin Business School offers the Accounting Technicans Ireland programme on a part time basis. Courses commence in September to finish in April. Examination sittings are in May. Examinations are run by Accounting Technicians Ireland .

Discounts

Re-sit or referral students who enrol on a main course only, qualify for a 10% discount on the fees applicable to the subject they were re-sitting. In order to qualify for the discount, simply present a copy of your examination results on enrolment.

 

 

Tax Relief

Dublin Business School is an approved college under the Finance Act 1995 (and subsequent amendments), which provides for income tax relief on qualifying fees paid to approved colleges. Tax relief on all ATI courses is at the standard income tax rate of 20%.
