Gary Bernie BComm,MBS ACCA Paper Specialist: P3 | Gary has been lecturing in the Professional School since 1992 and has extensive experience preparing and delivering CIMA education. He has been involved in delivering the TOPCIMA module since 2005 and has recently joined the ACCA lecturing team specialising in the delivery of paper P3, Business Analysis. His areas of lecturing expertise are Strategic Management, Strategic Marketing, Management & Organisational Behaviour, Service Organisation Management and Business Research Methods. Gary’s lectures involve a mix of conceptual delivery, practical application, socratic questioning and interactive class discussion. He will encourage class participation and students will engage in individual and minigroup exam focused exercises and defend the output of these exercises during the resultant class debate. He motivates his students to take ownership of their own learning and will encourage you to think laterally, independently and creatively. This combination is aimed at giving the ACCA and CIMA student the knowledge, the analytical skills and the strategic mindset necessary to succeed in Professional Accountancy examinations. To apply relevant knowledge, skills, and exercise professional judgment in assessing strategic position, determining strategic choice, and implementing strategic action through beneficial business process and structural change; coordinating knowledge systems and information technology and by effectively managing quality processes, projects, and people within financial and other resource constraints.
On successful completion of this paper candidates should be able to: - Assess the strategic position of an organisation
- Evaluate the strategic choices available to an organisation
- Discuss how an organisation might go about its strategic implementation
- Evaluate and redesign business processes and structures to implement and support the organisation’s strategy taking account of customer and other major stakeholder requirements
- Integrate appropriate information technology solutions to support the organisation’s strategy
- Apply appropriate quality initiatives to implement and support the organisation’s strategy
